Purposes of the association :

The association of the French Marine Corps museum friends cooperates with the Ministry of Defense, particularly about financial issues, to conserve, develop and emphasize the historical and cultural heritage constituted by all the collections stored in the French Marine Corps (in French: Troupes de Marine) and Colonial Troops museum and elating military virtues which these troops showed. The museum covers 2000 m² dedicated to relics kept on the history of the TDM.

A place is also made for the Overseas Troops History and Studies Center (C.H.E.T.O.M.) which is a store of MoD archives controlled by the Defense Historical Service. It is dedicated to the military history of French overseas troops, mainly the Colonial Troops and the Marine Corps.
